Raees was riding past when the plane tanked and caught fire. He was immediately rushed to the Civil hospital burns unit where he was treated for five days. He was on the ventilator for at least two hours before he was declared dead.
Raees, son of Bashiruddin, was the sole breadwinner of his family of four sisters, one younger brother and mother. He was born in 1974 had acquired several degrees and diplomas, including a B.Tech. Hons. (Civil) from the Indus Institute of Higher Education and D.A.E. (Civil) from the Govt. Jamia Milia Polytechnic Institute. He worked with construction firms as a project supervisor and quantity surveyor. Before his death he was working for Path International as a site engineer and quantity surveyor on the construction of houses in the Navy Housing Scheme at Karsaz.
