New Management: Afridi Student Union elects cabinet

Malik Siraj vowed he would speak for the rights of students from the Afridi tribe.

PESHAWAR: The organising committee of Afridi Student Union announced new members for its cabinet for 2015. Addressing a news conference at Peshawar Press Club, Dil Nawaz Afridi, a member of the committee, said Malik Siraj Afridi has been elected as the new central president of the union while Ismail Afridi has been elected as the central general secretary and Shokeb Afridi as central chairman. Nawaz added four other candidates had also submitted nomination papers to contest the top seat but were rejected over the eligibility criteria. On the occasion, newly-elected president Malik Siraj vowed he would speak for the rights of students from the Afridi tribe. He maintained the union would also work for the repatriation of IDPs from Bara, Khyber Agency.
