The dreams of the entire nation were quashed as Pakistan crashed out of the World Cup quarter-finals against Australia in Adelaide.

As Australia completed an emphatic six-wicket victory over Pakistan, captain Misbahul Haq and all-rounder Shahid Afridi bowed out of one-day international cricket with their dreams unfulfilled.

salman | 9 years ago | Reply Again batting let us down again along with our imbecile catching. Wahab perhaps bowled the spell of a decade. What a hostile fast bowling that was. Watson was clearly not only in severe pressure but was literally scared. Had that dolly taken by Rahat, Wahab might had ripped through Australian middle order.

Ani | 9 years ago | Reply Kudos to Pakistan team for making a match out of a mere 213 runs. They did show a lot of fight, and, the match could have gone down the wire, if not for dropped catches. Fielding should really be improved - these standards would be clearly unacceptable for an international team in modern day cricket. It is always a sight watching Pakistani tearaway fast bowlers, for every cricket lover. Sadly, they are a rare breed these days in Pakistan too, it seems.
