MULTAN: Three boys and a man were injured in a grenade blast in Sameejabad area on Wednesday. The boys identified as Waqas (12), Hamza (11), Rabnawaz (15) and Omar (24) were shifted to Nishtar Hospital, police said. Sameejababd is a sensitive area where security agencies and police have conducted many surgical operations in the last four months. Police had recovered a suicide jacket and hand grenades from the same colony almost two months ago. The blast occurred at the residence of Omar who has been critically injured and is in intensive care unit. He was the one who had pulled out the grenade’s pin, one of the injured boys told the police. RPO Amjad Javed Salimee told newsmen at the Nishtar Hospital that the boys had found the grenade from Naubahar canal and brought it with them mistaking it as a toy.
