This is the second such video, earlier the consulate had released a video just days before the big India vs Pakistan match on February 15.

KARACHI: As Pakistan gears up for its quarter-final match against Australia at the World Cup 2015, every one in the country seems to be catching the cricket fever and US Consulate employees are no exception to this.

The latest video released by the mission in Karachi shows its employees clad in Pakistan team jerseys, once again trying to grapple with to explain cricketing terms like ‘No-ball’, ‘Khabba’, ‘Googlie’, ‘sweep’ and ‘night-watchman’.

This is the second such video by them. In the previous clip, released just days before the big India vs Pakistan match on February 15, staffers had struggled to make sense of cricketing terms.

Asked about the ‘Googlie’, one of the staffers thought it was “when you look for information about cricket on Google.” Another had a really interesting take on the term, she thought it was “when your mom runs on to the field and pull your cheeks” may be that’s ‘Googlie’.

In an attempt to explain the term ‘no-ball’, one of the employees said it is “when you can’t find the ball to play cricket with,” while another employee confused it with ‘wide-ball’ and said it is when the bowler throws ball too far to be hit.

The most hilarious responses came when they were asked to explain the term ‘Night-watchmen’. One staffer explained it as “the person who cleans up the ground after the game.”

Another employee explained the ‘sweep’ as sweeping clean the ground.

The US Consulate employees also seemed to have no idea what ‘Khabba’ (Leftie) means.
