Osama bin Laden's alleged killer lands television role with Fox News

He will offer military expertise and analysis across the network's roster of programs

Fox news has hired  Rob O’Neill, a former member ofthe  US Navy's SEAL Team Six and the purported killer of Osama Bin Laden, to offer military expertise and analysis across the network's roster of programs, Hollywood Reporter said on Thursday.

This decision was made after FNC hit ratings highs with its O’Neill sit-down, The Man Who Killed Osama Bin Laden.

“Rob O’Neill is an American hero who dedicated his life to serving our country and protecting our freedoms," said chairman and CEO Roger Ailes. "It’s incredibly rare to have someone in a television contributor role with his leadership experience and expertise at the fighting unit level. His military insight will be a major asset to the network and we are honored to have him.”

His openness with the media has not always worked to his advantage. While most other members of the team that raided bin Laden's Abbottabad compound in 2011 have remained silent (and anonymous), O'Neill's candid talks reportedly brought him under investigation by the Navy.
