Go Green: Agriculture varsity initiates plantation
PMAS-AAUR Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Rai Niaz Ahmad inaugurated the campaign
ISLAMABAD:
The spring tree plantation campaign kicked off at Pir Mehr Ali Shah Arid Agriculture University Rawalpindi (PMAS-AAUR) on Wednesday. The aim of the campaign is to create awareness among students about the importance of trees and to highlight the significance of greener environment. On this occasion, PMAS-AAUR Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Rai Niaz Ahmad inaugurated the campaign by planting a sapling at the main campus. He stressed that a greener environment is vital for a healthy nation, and would also help in reducing pollution. He urged the participants to play an active role in the campaign and advised every student to sow two plant species and take care of them for the entirety of their stay at the university.
