Cattle Dispute: Woman killed for ‘poisoning buffaloes’

MANSEHRA: A woman was shot dead over suspicion of poisoning buffaloes in a village of Lassan Nawab Sahib, said the police on Wednesday. According to the police, Zubaida Bibi of Bandi Bohal village reported Jameel, a resident of the same village, killed her 32-year-old daughter-in-law Nazia Bibi for allegedly poisoning his three buffaloes. Zubaida Bibi said a few days back someone had poisoned Jameel’s buffaloes and he was suspicious of someone from her family of being involved in the act. On Tuesday night, when Zubaida Bibi and Nazia Bibi, a mother of four, went to answer the door at their house, Jameel and two others barged in and opened fire. Nazia Bibi died on the spot while Zubaida Bibi escaped unhurt.
