Preventive detention: Rangers grill two suspects

The two men were involved in targeted killings and extortion

KARACHI: The Paramilitary Rangers informed an ATC-II judge about its three-month preventive detention of two suspects.

The Rangers Sachal wing, along with its legal team, presented suspects Shabeeh Ahmed Rizvi and Usman Ghani, contending that the two men were involved in targeted killings and extortion and were therefore being grilled for 90 days at the Karachi prison under Section 11EEEE of the Anti-Terrorism Act, a special provision granted to the Rangers in the Pakistan Protection Act.
