MANSEHRA:

Muhammad Rafique, a resident of Chatar Plain, has been accused of selling his ex-wife for Rs300,000.

Speaking to the media on Sunday, Gulbar Bibi said her husband passed away in July 2010 and she started living with her brother-in-law Sardaz Khan. Gulbar added Khan arranged her daughter Hatam Bibi’s marriage to his son Rafique by force  and the marriage did not last for long.

Gulbar said Rafique divorced her daughter after three years and sold her to Pachai Khan, a resident of Bana village in Allai tehsil, for Rs300,000.

She claimed police sided with the accused and forced her daughter to change her statement. She urged the authorities to recover
Hatam Bibi.

Meanwhile, Bana  police rejected Gulbar’s claims and said Hatam’s statement was recorded in the court of Battagram judicial magistrate,  where she said she married  Pachai willingly.
