KARACHI: The Sindh High Court (SHC) directed the Rangers and police to file their replies to various petitions seeking recovery of alleged missing persons, including some activists of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement. The bench, headed by Justice Abdul Rasool Memon, was hearing a number of missing persons’ cases. During Thursday’s proceedings, the investigation officers of the relevant police stations filed their reports in some cases, stating that efforts were being made to ensure recovery of the missing relatives of the petitioners. On the other hand, advocate Habib Ahmed, the special prosecutor for the Sindh Rangers, requested for time to file his comments in those cases. The law officers for the Rangers and police also sought time to enable them to submit comments against disappearance of some activists of the MQM. Allowing the requests, the bench asked them to file their reports by the next date of hearing.
