Targeted: Under-construction college bombed

The explosives went off around 6am, destroying six rooms of the building.

HANGU: Six rooms of an under-construction degree college were destroyed when explosives planted inside went off in Lower Orakzai Agency early Friday morning. An official of the political administration said unidentified militants planted high-intensity explosives inside a college being constructed in Kalaya Manikhel Darra for boys. The explosives went off around 6am, destroying six rooms of the building. Fortunately, no loss of life occurred, said the official. He added the political administration and security forces rushed to the site after hearing the blast and cordoned it off. A search operation was launched in the surrounding area but no arrests had been made till this report was filed.
