MATTA:

Following the directives of the district administration and police, All Swat Private Schools Management Association (ASPSMA) has decided to close all schools down in Matta tehsil until March 1.

The announcement was made during a meeting of association members on Wednesday. The decision came only a day after an explosive device was defused outside a private school. ASPSMA President Sawab Khan told The Express Tribune the association was forced to take such measures, keeping the safety of students and faculty in mind.

“After the terror bid was thwarted on Tuesday, police and district administration asked school managements to padlock schools until February 28,” he said, adding the association decided to extend the break to March 1. When contacted, DPO Saleem Marwat confirmed the development.

“Majority of the government schools will reopen on March 1, so we asked private schools to follow the same schedule,” he told The Express Tribune.

Burki | 9 years ago | Reply This B-disposal dude is wearing regular sport shoes and a helmet with just a wire cage around - no protective shield ... what the heck is that? cutting corners when it comes to providing proper protective gear for those who're putting their lives on line. And in the background, people/cops are just standing around in close proximity so casually. Is this what they're teaching at the newly established explosive difusal school in Peshawar?
