Mekaal Hasan Band to perform at SXSW music festival in March

The revamped Mekaal Hasan Band (MHB) will showcase its fusion of classical and contemporary music at the South by Southwest (SXSW) festival in Austin, Texas next month.
In what is arguably one of the biggest music festivals in the world and has been headlined in the past by artists such as Lady Gaga, MHB will perform on March 18 and 19 as per the schedule.
SXSW is a set of film, interactive and music festivals which started in 1987 and includes conferences.
MHB is famous for its fusion of melodies between the folk, classical and sufi traditions of the East and the harmonic sophistication of jazz with the power of rock as liked by the West.
The band recently revamped itself, absorbing Indian musicians and making it a one of a kind cross-border band.
