LAHORE: Lahore High Court removed on Wednesday a stay order which barred the election tribunal from holding proceedings on a petition challenging MNA Mian Tariq Mahmood’s victory from Gujranwala. Justice Shujaat Ali Khan of the LHC issued the order on a petition filed by the defeated candidate, Imtiaz Safdar Warraich. The LHC had earlier stayed the proceedings in November, 2013. The judge issued the order after Warraich’s counsel said the MNA from NA-98 was using delaying tactics to complete his tenure under the stay order.
