FAISALABAD:
A seven-year-old girl was abducted from her house and raped on Sunday. Tarkhani police said they had arrested the suspect on Monday.
The girl’s uncle told The Express Tribune that his niece was playing in a street in front of her house in Chak 228-GB when one of her neighbours abducted her and carried her to his house where he raped her. The victim raised hue and cry and the man fled, he said. The Tarkhani SHO said they had arrested the man on Monday and had registered a case against him.
He said the man was behind bars and they were waiting for the victim’s medico-legal report after which they would take further action. In another incident, a 13-year-old girl abducted from her house in Chak 85-GB a week ago and raped by her neighbour was recovered on Tuesday.
Dijkot police said they had arrested the culprit.
The victim’s uncle said that the girl was alone at home when the man knocked on the door and told her to accompany him to Dijkot Adda where her father was, supposedly, waiting for her. He said the man was one of their neighbours so the girl went with him. He said the man took her to a house in Chak 264 where he kept for several days and raped her. “We looked for her everywhere but in vain. Then we reported her missing with the police,” he said. Dijkot SHO said they had traced the girl to Chak 264 and recovered her in a raid and arrested the culprit.
He said the girl had told them that the man had threatened to kill her if she tried to raise an alarm.
The SHO said a DNA test of the victim would be conducted.
