‘Society cannot progress without teachers’

Speakers at an award distribution ceremony held as part of Express Media Group’s Aao Parhao campaign maintained that teachers were the pride of any country. The event was held at Government Post Graduate College for Women in Lahore.


Speaking on the occasion, Principal Farah Malhi said the Express Media Group had highlighted the importance of teachers through its campaign. She said the slogan Aao Parhao—Jo Seekha Hai Who Sab Ko Sekhao (Come Teach - Teach Everyone What You Have Learnt) will revive respect for teachers in society.

College faculty member Dr Rashida Qureshi called teachers “the backbone of the society.” She lauded the campaign being carried out by the Express Media Group.

During the ceremony, awards were distributed among teachers who helped bring about good results. The teachers who received awards included Dr Rashida Qureshi, Akhterun Nisa, Kausar Iqbal, Tasleem Hashmi, Nasira Jamal, Robina Iman, Aqeela Zafar, Tehmina Jabeen, Rukhsana, Bushar Amin and Musarrat Qayyum.

A large number of students and teachers were present at the ceremony and gave standing ovation to the teachers. An introductory documentary on Aao Parhao campaign from Express Media Group was praised by the participants.
