In response to media reports regarding maladministration in the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (Pims), Wafaqi Mohtasib Salman Farooqi has constituted a six-member committee to conduct a through study about the functioning of the capital’s largest hospital.
According to a notification, Farooqi announced to establish the committee in light of Article 9 (1) read with articles 18 and 19 of the Wafaqi Mohtasib (Ombudsman)’s Order 1983.
The committee would be chaired by Anwar Mehmood, honourary adviser of the ombudsman’s secretariat.
Farooqi constituted the committee after media reports on February 15 regarding the breakdown of important medico-surgical equipment, including MRI, CT Scan, EEG and low quality of services at Pims. The committee will conduct a through study and submit a report in 30 days.
