People of Quetta were caught in hours-long traffic jam as main arteries of the city were blocked for the cavalcades of the VIPs.
The city administration had disallowed traffic on several roads of Quetta as part of the security detail for the prime minister and chief of army staff.
Stringent security measures were adopted with the huge deployment of police, Frontier Corps, Anti-Terrorism Force and other law enforcing agencies from airport to Governor House. The red zone and its adjacent areas were blocked for security reason.
A helicopter was also used for aerial surveillance to keep a close eye on security arrangements.
The blockade of main thoroughfares caused a logjam on Joint Road, Zarghoon Road, Jinah Road, Hockey Chowk and other adjacent areas. “I had to change my route twice while getting back home from office,” Mohammed Kamaran whose office is located near the Governor House told The Express Tribune. “We people will continue to suffer tomorrow too,” he added.
