It turns out Friday the 13th was lucky for this poor cat whose nightmare of being stabbed in the head quickly turned to joy after the blade was removed, The Independent reported.

The cat, nicknamed Zelonyy was found with a giant kitchen knife buried two-inches deep in its tiny skull, but was miraculously alive.

Lyudmila Alexeeva found the cat in the Crimean city of Sevastopol in Ukraine and rushed him to a vet where the knife was surgically removed.

“When I went to look for him I found him hiding under a bush and was shocked to see a knife sticking out of his head even though he was still alive,” Alexeeva, who rescued Zelyoniy told 9news.

Natalia Morozova, president of the Sevastopol charity fund for homeless animals, said authorities believe the cat was stabbed on February 13, days before it was found.

“The knife was wedged in the skull and the cat had probably run off before its attacker could remove the blade,” she told News.com.

The feline is expected to make a full recovery. But the identity of the attacker was still unknown.
