Fashion Police: Celebs this week

While many stars stun in sophisticated looks, others just don’t match up.

When you have a stylist on call, there’s no excuse to look sloppy on the red carpet. While many stars stun in sophisticated looks, others just don’t match up. Cate Blanchett, Anna Kendrick, Queen Bey, and Rihanna were a few of the stars who made unforgiveable fashion faux pas this week.

Anna Kendrick

The Into The Woods actor looks like she’s ready to float up into the sky with her striped Vionnet Spring 2015 gown, which reminds us of a hot air balloon. That poufy shape at the bottom adds nothing but needless weight to the slender star. We loved the pointy stilettos but the disappointing striped number is too hard to forgive.

Rihanna

Yikes, did Rihanna let a budding fashion student use her as scapegoat for practice? Truly, it pains us to add the We Found Love sensation in this list, but we can’t even figure out what her outfit comprises. What appears to be a mash-up of pants, a skirt, a coat and a one piece, didn’t pull our heart strings. It neither looks comfortable, nor elegant.

Cate Blanchett

The Blue Jasmine beauty looked very much like a conformist teacher or office assistant with her latest outfit, which consisted of an ill-fitted matronly white blouse tucked into a long black skirt with unnecessary ruffles on the side and an unkempt belt. We think that if she would at least let her hair down, it would add a little more spunk to the look.

Beyoncé

We were just not too keen on the Crazy In Love hitmaker mixing together a gamut of busy designs. From her mini corset and round shades to that floral belt, colour-block jacket, and what appears to be a festive stocking on her left arm, Beyoncé definitely resembled the mad hatter more than anything. Sadly, her eclectic ensemble didn’t make us crazy in love.
