Five militants were killed in clashes with the police and security forces in different areas of Swat, on Tuesday.
Two militants were killed in the Nazarabad area of Matta as security forces carried out a search operation to arrest militants.
In another incident, three militants were killed in clashes with police in the Phir Baba area of Swat.
Security forces have been carrying out operations against militants in Swat. A major ground and air offensive in South Waziristan was launched last year to clear the area of the Tehreek-i-Taliban militants, who have been blamed for some of the worst incidents of violence in the country.
