LAHORE: An FIR was registered against four suspects accused of ruthlessly beating an 16-year-old boy to death in a street fight in Lahore, police said.

The case was registered after social media erupted with outrage over the killing

Syed Muhammad Murtaza died of head injuries at Combined Military Hospital Monday night. Though the exact reason for the quarrel is not known yet, Murtaza was allegedly beaten up by four men in the city's Askari IX area.

CCTV footage of the fight is making rounds on social networking websites with people calling for justice for the victim.

An investigation officer at the North Cantonment Police Station told The Express Tribune that three of the four accused have been identified while two of them are in police custody. "We are interrogating them,” he added.

The investigation officer said the fight began when the boys gathered in the area; however, he refused to share the exact reason behind the fight, stating that investigation into the incident was in progress. “We will share the exact cause of the quarrel later,” he said.

anonymous | 9 years ago | Reply This is such a shame for us. You are killing your own people just for the sake of satisfaction of your own ego. Who the heck gave you the right to do this. Why on earth we don't understand the real reason of our existence. We are here to serve humanity and not to promote violence. Enough of this!
