Salman Taseer murder: IHC reserves judgement on Qadri's murder appeal

A two-member bench reserved the verdict after defence counsel concluded their arguments

ISLAMABAD: Islamabad High Court on Wednesday reserved a judgement on murder appeal of Mumtaz Qadri, the self-confessed killer of Salman Taseer against his conviction, after councils from both parties have concluded their arguments. 

A two-member bench comprising Justice Noorul Haq N Qureshi and Justice Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui reserved the verdict after the defence council Justice (ret) Mian Nazir Akhtar and Advocate General representing from federal government concluded their arguments.

On February 6, IHC had remarked that even a judge could not touch an accused after punishment was rewarded, yet the defence counsel insisted that a person could kill another under unusual circumstances.
