He said that the bar would arrange a convention of former superior court judges to deliberate on military courts.
LAHORE:
Lahore High Court Bar Association (LHCBA) announced on Tuesday that lawyers would observe a ‘black day’ on Thursday (tomorrow) against the establishment of military courts. “They will appear before courts wearing black armbands. Black flags will also be hoisted on bar’s premises,” LHCBA president Shafqat Chauhan told a press conference. He said that the bar would arrange a convention of former superior court judges to deliberate on military courts. He accused political parties of violating their oath by endorsing the courts. He said that the army’s role was defined in the Constitution. Lawyers would not let anyone impose a martial law, Chauhan said.
