According to a statement released by the MQM, Senator Rehman Malik met with MQM chief Altaf Hussain in London early on Tuesday. In the three hour long meeting, they discussed the prevailing conditions in the country, the upcoming Senate elections and MQM's return to the Sindh government.
As per the agreement for Senate elections, PPP will get seven Senate seats while MQM will get four seats.
Furthering the political reconciliation between PPP and MQM, the former agreed to return to the treasury benches in the Sindh government. In this regard, both sides have decided that this time they will sign a written agreement to seal the move.
To ensure the agreement is implemented, and to improve the working relationship between them, a four member committee will be formed comprising two members from each party. To solve government related issues, another committee will be formed with members from both sides.
Malik assured that MQM will gets its due share and the 60:40 ratio will be adhered to.
