SIALKOT: The Indian Border Security Forces (BSF) resorted to unprovoked mortar shelling on villages along Sialkot Working Boundary in the early hours of Monday. After a week-long lull, BSF started shelling after midnight which continued intermittently till dawn. The Chenab Rangers retaliated in a befitting manner, silencing the Indian guns, the senior officials of Chenab Rangers said. No injury or death was reported, in this fresh spell of BSF shelling. BSF targeted villages in Bajra Garhi, Umeraanwali, Harpal, Mairajkey and Charwah Sectors of Sialkot Working Boundary, officials said. Local people said that the Indian bullets and mortar shells hit several empty houses. Majority of the local population has shifted to safer places with their cattle to avert coming in line of fire, they said.
