Violence round-up: Two political workers gunned down

Two political workers among three people were shot dead in separate targeted attacks in different parts of city on Saturday.


A worker of the Sunni Tehreek was killed while another was wounded in an act of targeted killing in Orangi Town. The deceased and the injured were identified as Khurram Qadri and Syed Omair Hassan alias Shani, respectively. Police said the victims were travelling in their Suzuki pickup when two unidentified motorcyclists targeted them. Qadri died on the spot and the injured Hassan was taken to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital.

Similarly, a Muttahida Qaumi Movement worker was shot dead in North Nazimabad. Police said the deceased, identified as Kamran Muhammad, 25, was returning home when unidentified motorcyclists targeted him. He was shot at least seven times and died on the spot.

Meanwhile, an unidentified young man was shot dead near FTC Bridge. Police officials said that they have also recovered a motorcycle that he was riding, adding that it was stolen in October last year from Defence.
