Pishtakhara Tragedy: Committee recommends compensation
The AAC said the bereaved families did not register any cases as they believed the incident was an accident.
PESHAWAR:
The district administration’s three-member enquiry committee has recommended compensation for the families of the five seminary students who died when the concrete cover of a well caved in in Pishtakhara on February 3. Newly-appointed DC Riaz Mehsud had formed an enquiry committee comprising AC Mumtaz Ahmad, AAC Altaf Hussain and the local SHO, to probe the incident. “We have submitted a report to the DC who will forward it to Chief Minister Pervez Khattak before Wednesday,” Hussain told The Express Tribune. The AAC said the bereaved families did not register any cases as they believed the incident was an accident and no one was directly responsible for it.
