Speaking at a ‘Meet the Press’ programme here, she said “it was not we” (the Pakistan Peoples Party) who approached the International Monetary Fund (IMF) but Ishaq Dar of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) who took the country there.
She said audio tapes have emerged pointing to the conspiracies to implicate the PPP leadership in fake cases. She said plots against the PPP government were not something new as earlier anti-state powers had hatched conspiracies against Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and Benazir Bhutto, and they are now targeting President Asif Zardari.
She said that the collection of sales tax on services is the right of Sindh from which it will never withdraw.
She quashed news reports that 114,000 Watan cards issued to the flood victims in Sindh were not functional and could not draw cash, calling the stories untruthful. She added that Rs7.75 billion have been distributed to the flood survivors through the Watan cards.
