Agriculture initiative: Soil fertility management discussed

ISLAMABAD:
The Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO) of the United Nations, in partnership with the Ministry of National Food Security and Research, the Pakistan Agriculture Research Council (PARC) and the US Department for Agriculture (USDA) held a one-day symposium on the subject of “Public-private partnership to manage soil fertility in Pakistan”. The objective of the symposium was to highlight the significance of balanced application of fertilisers and to create awareness among fertiliser producers, farmers, academia and agriculture extension workers of the importance of balanced use of fertilisers in food security and sustainable agriculture.
