Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has formed a committee to shift Badami Bagh’s general bus stand to Shahdara and restore a cricket ground, gymnasium and wrestling arena in Iqbal Park, Sports and Education Minister Mashhood Ahmed Khan said on Tuesday.
He was chairing a meeting regarding the restoration of playgrounds affected by the construction of Azadi Chowk flyover and related development projects in the Iqbal Park area.
He said the Board of Revenue senior member would head the committee. The committee would submit its recommendations to the chief minister, he said.
The minister said the bus terminal, consisting of 282 kanals, and an auto workshop near it would be shifted.
He said the new general bus terminal would be built at Shahdara Mor over 303 kanals.
