Wheat sale in trouble

FAISALABAD: Farmers in Faisalabad are facing problems in selling their wheat produce owing to negligence of the provincial food department and the district administration.

One of the problems that the farmers  are facing is the non-availabilty of gunny bags.

Also, the farmers said that the food department is raising unnecessary objections, forcing them to sell their agricultural produce at throwaway prices in the open market.

Ineffective monitoring and checking at purchase centres is also affecting the wheat procurement drive in the district.
