An anti-terrorism court handed the death sentence to a convict charged for murder on Monday.
The prosecution counsel told the court Rahim Khan along with four other accomplices shot Ahmad Yar dead at Nowshera judicial complex on April 16, 2013. Judge Salim Jan Khan heard the proceedings.
The reason for the murder was said to be a personal rivalry. Among other charges, the police booked the accused under sections of the anti-terrorism act as well. After hearing the arguments from the prosecution and defence counsels, the court found the accused guilty of murder. Rahim Khan was sentenced to seven years in prison and death. Furthermore, his accomplices Khairul Amin, Zebul Amin, Nasim Jan and Hamid Ali were declared proclaimed offenders and their arrest warrants were also issued.
