Snooker: Sajjad continues dominant run

Former Asian number two cueist Muhammad Sajjad continued his winning run at the 40th National Snooker Championship 2015 in Karachi yesterday.


Sajjad registered his third win in the tournament as he defeated Mehmood Khan 4-0.


Meanwhile in another encounter, former IBSF champion Muhammad Asif overcame Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa’s (K-P) Sharjeel Mehmood 4-2.


Defending champion Muhammad Asif Toba also won 4-0 against Islamabad’s Gul Afzal, whereas Muhammad Faizan defeated K-P’s Shah Khan 4-3 in a closely-contested match.


Second seed Imran Shehzad defeated Aamir Shehzad 4-3, while Abdul Sattar outplayed Yasir Nadeem 4-1.


Former national champion Hamza Akbar also recorded a 4-1 win against Bahadur Khan, while seasoned cueist Shahid Aftab defeated former national champion Asjad Iqbal 4-2 on the third day of the event.


Sindh’s Khurram Agha defeated Muhammad Toufiq Jhori 4-1.
