Crackdown: Five terrorism suspects arrested

He said they had been taken to an undisclosed location for interrogation.

FAISALABAD: Police on Saturday claimed to have arrested five persons, including a couple from Toba Tek Singh, over having links with banned outfits.

Police spokesman Muhammad Anwar told The Express Tribune that a team of law enforcement agencies raided a house near Kamalia police station and detained Najeebullah and Hafiz Muhammad Iqbal over having links with terrorists involved in the attack on APS in Peshawar on December 16.

He said they also detained a couple and their son from Chak 298-JB, Gojra over having links with banned outfits. He said they had been taken to an undisclosed location for interrogation.

Police on Saturday also registered cases against 23 people for making hateful speeches during Friday prayers.  Police spokesman Muhammad Ramzan told The Express Tribune that police had arrested Qari Usman, Qari Allah Ditta, Qari Asghar Ali, Qari Hadayat Ullah, Qari Nawaz, Qari Muhammad Tariq Tari and Qari Saqlain for misusing loudspeakers.
