Atlas Honda earns Rs1.72b, up 20%

KARACHI: Atlas Honda Limited, Pakistan’s largest motorcycle manufacturer with a market share of over 50%, has posted a profit after tax of Rs1.72 billion for the first nine months ended December 2014, up 20% compared to Rs1.43 billion in the same period of previous year.

Earnings per share (EPS) increased to Rs16.68 against an EPS of Rs13.86 in the period under review.


The company also made a profit in the third quarter (Oct-Dec 2014), earning Rs622 million, up 30% compared to Rs480 million in the corresponding quarter of the previous year.


Atlas Honda is a joint venture between the Atlas Group – a local financial and industrial conglomerate – and Honda Motor Company Limited Japan. It is by far the biggest motorcycle maker in the country.

Yamaha Japan will officially inaugurate bike assembly plant in Karachi around april 2015 and introduce new models.This will help breaking the monoply of AHL whose actions has stagnated new technology induction in Pakistan.We still ride the decades old CD-70 and CG-125.I would love to see their earnings fall.
