The premier is in Karachi to discuss the overall security situation and implementation of National Action Plan (NAP).
"It should be known who committed the murder and they should be brought to justice," PM Nawaz said at the Governor House where he headed a high-level meeting.
The prime minister met with the families of slain MQM workers to offer his condolences.

The PM urged the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and the MQM to remove their mutual misgivings for peace in Karachi, and noted that the law and order situation in Karachi had an impact on the entire country.
Speaking to the media in Karachi in relation to Ahmed's murder, MQM leader Haider Abbas Rizvi said that the party wants justice adding that they (MQM) have requested the PM to direct officials to form a committe to look into the murder.
The premier said that no form of terrorism would be tolerated, adding that all issues must be resolved on provincial level.
Later on, the premier said that the IG Sindh will work towards solving the murder case within 30 days.
National Action Plan
Paying particular attention to NAP, the premier said that the plan was devised by all the political parties and belongs to everyone.
"It does not belong to one party alone or to the government, it belongs to us all; all of us have signed the document," PM Nawaz said.
Commenting further on the NAP, Sindh Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah said that the implementation of the anti-terror plan has commenced in Sindh.
In the meeting, he also confirmed that all the terrorism cases to be tried under the military courts were being discussed.
Over 8,837 people have so far been arrested in operations following PM Nawaz’s announcement of NAP on December 24, 2014.
Hate material was also confiscated from 24 places in K-P, whereas 41 shops selling hate material got sealed in Punjab.
Likewise, 7,000 Afghan refugees have been registered in Punjab, 327,788 in Balochistan and 29 in G-B.
Similarly, a total of 16.3 million mobile SIMS have been verified across the country.
Karachi Stock Exchange visit
The premier visited the Karachi Stock Exchange later on during the day, accompanied by Finance Minister Ishaq Dar and Sindh Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah.
Addressing the media after his visit, Nawaz appreciated the stock exchange's efforts and praised it for improving its numbers as compared to last year.
"Pakistan's economy is heading towards success," Nawaz said.
Judicial commission formed
Sindh Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah has formed a judicial commission to investigate the deaths of MQM workers Sohail Ahmed and Faraz Alam. The commission will be headed by justice (retd) Ghulam Sarwar. The commission has been directed to submit its report within ten days.

urban legend, Take positive what layman said he is also right, PM must have visited to the martyred school children its his responsibility and he should visit Thar too and do something good for them but unfortunately no politician giving importance especially the PPP who won there, they r doing nothing, we daily hear this news 2 more infant lost their lives but they act like that its not their duty....it seems that we have to tolerate this PM TILL 5 YEARS :(
i doubt if anything going to change after his visit! to some of our beloved patriotic brothers above: For you its OK for an extra judicial killing of mqm worker. But for a lot of us here in Karachi, its not. its not just for MQM worker but for anybody. The Sindh Police is the problem of Karachi. 63% of Sindh Police is from Punjab, 18% from Sindh, 3% from Baluchistan 11% from KPK, and only 5% from Local Population.
Police is direct responsible for ill-legal occupation of Land, ill-legal vendors, robberies and looting/damaging of Public properties. Police collect bhutta from milk mafia, transport mafia, drug mafia, and land grabbers.
Karachi can be classified as a Looting grounds for all Pakistanis....
ET-i also reserve the right of freedom of speech as the above commentators do.
Nawaz does not come to Karachi. He comes at night. and leaves early morning. The Karachiites don't consider him their Prime Minister. He is considered PM of Punjab only.He does not visit any other province. Not even the APS school.
ET don't be scared of printing this.
Should be could be would be. But nothing actually happens. Why does the PM has to make a statement on this issue? Where are the departments concerned? I remember reading newspapers back in the 90's when every statement from politicians was in future tense. Nothing they had accomplished but would in the unforeseen future. WTF
What about 18 lives lost in the Model Town massacre and 1 in Faisalabad? They dont count?
Uhoh this means another "wheel jammed strike"
Classic Nawaz strategy.......do nothing and the problem will eventually disappear.
Talking about fairness - who of you having problem in him coming to Karachi on MQM workers regular killing - how many have compared APS students to more than 300 children died in Thar because of mal-nutrition? Inequality in Pakistan is causing the country to become weaker and weaker. Ultimately, Pakistan would be left with Punjab only - i fear!
Karachi has lost more people than any other city in Karachi, and yet when Federal Govt tries (atleast from the face of it) to take the matter seriously, the more patriotic non-Karachiites have an issue.
I have never seen ‘equal distribution of bones’, am I going to watch this time?
Sir remember APS, they were also expecting a visit from the 'leader' of this country? Do you have any shame left?
The most important question to be answered is, 'what's for lunch?'
PM you never visited the school children of 16 December Massacre, instead you were cracking jokes the next day in the press conference and in contrary you took the next available flight to Karachi on a killing of a political worker who belongs to one of the most "Patriotic" party of Pakistan..ET remember the freedom of speech..
Whatever the official version given through PTV and other sarkari media, the real close door meeting done is probably with the Mafia members and corrupt politicians discussing how to loot the nation further and make it more of an international joke in the world than it already is!
