Family dispute: Woman burnt to death, husband injured

RAWALPINDI: An 18-year-old woman was burned to death and her husband suffered injuries under unexplained circumstances in Chauntra. Police said that Anila Bibi and her husband, Ahmed Ali, 25, were brought to District Headquarters Hospital on Tuesday, where Anila died after few hours and Ali remains under treatment at the hospital. Police said that Anila gave a brief deathbed statement in which she accused her husband of attacking her. On the other hand, Ali claimed that he was attempting suicide and Anila caught fire while trying to save him. The police have registered a case against Ali based on Anila’s deathbed statement.
