An anti-terrorism court (ATC) on Wednesday issued arrest warrants for former Operations SSP Yasin Farooq for not appearing to record his statement in the murder case of PPP chairperson Benazir Bhutto despite receiving summons.
ATC-I Special Judge Pervaiz Ismail Joya, who heard the case in Adiala Jail, also ordered the city police officer to arrest the former cop and present him before the court.
The other two prosecution witnesses, SP Ashfaq Anwar and ISI telephone operator Ismail, have not attended hearings.
Ashfaq’s counsel filed an application stating that the judge let the officer, who is serving in Dera Bugti, Balochistan, to come to court on February 2.
The court deferred the hearing till Thursday (today).
