He announced that the government would contribute Rs100 million for operational expenses of the facility.
Gillani recalled that he had inaugurated the Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al-Nahyan Medical and Dental College last year and was glad that it had already won appreciation of the medical community.
He said that the government would provide funds for the establishment of college’s Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto Shaheed campus for the college. He praised the Punjab chief minister for allocating 600 kanal plot of land for the purpose remarking that students needed playgrounds and open spaces. He said hepatitis was a huge concern and added that his government was making all out efforts to fight it. He said that the government was undertaking several preventive measures including a hepatitis-B vaccination drive and an EPI programme.
