Aisamul Haq Qureshi and his Serb partner Nenad Zimonjic lost their third-round match in the Australian Open doubles event yesterday as French pair Pierre-Hugues Herbert and Nicholas Mahut outplayed them 2-0 in Sydney.


Herbert and Mahut took only 30 minutes to take the first set 6-3, winning 30 points in total, while Aisam and Zimonjic made six unforced errors and failed to break their opponents’ serve.

Mahut and Herbert also dominated in the second set, winning 6-3 in 33 minutes.

Despite the Pak-Serb duo’s efforts to contain their unseeded opponents by hitting two aces, Herbert and Mahut broke their serve to take the lead and won 29 points to seal the win.
