Franco aspires to make movie with Del Rey

Actor formerly confessed he is ‘enamoured’ with the singer and her persona

LOS ANGELES: Actor James Franco is hoping to collaborate on a new film with Summertime Sadness singer Lana Del Rey. In an essay penned by Franco, he said that she “isn’t made for the Earth” and revealed that the two have discussed working together on a film project.

Franco elaborated on the film’s plot, “She has this idea for a film. I want to do it because it’s a little like Sunset Boulevard. A woman is alone in a big house in Los Angeles. She doesn’t want to go out. She starts to go crazy and becomes paranoid because she feels like people are watching her. Even in her own house. It’s like an awesome B-movie that lives in Lana’s head. It’s about her, and it’s not about her. Just like her music.”

However, it’s unclear whether or not the project will get off the ground, as Franco admits he has a hard time even getting Del Rey to sit down and discuss it with him. “I wanted to interview Lana for a book and she said, ‘Just write around me, its better if it’s not my own words. It’s almost better if you don’t get me exactly, but try’,” he wrote.

The actor has formerly spoken of how ‘enamoured’ he is with the singer. “There’s a weird thing with the creative type. Sometimes, I love a person’s work and I’m just enamoured with that and their persona in their work. But outside of that, our dynamic is we’re just friends. We get along so well,” he said.
