LAHORE: The outlawed Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) has constituted two units under the supervision of its two commanders and tasked them to carry out attacks on foreigners, police, army and personnel of other law-enforcement agencies (LEAs).

The banned outfit in a secret annual meeting with other militant organisations discussed matters relating to operational and strategic planning.

In order to mount attacks on foreigners and law-enforcement agencies, especially in Punjab, the TTP set up two units led by commanders Mujahid Abu Asim and Abdul Ghani.

Intelligence reports said the meeting also decided to launch a fund-raising campaign across the country to purchase ammunition to execute the terror plans. In view of this, the security of foreigners has been increased.

After receiving the intelligence reports the National Crisis Management Cell (NCMC) of interior ministry has issued a circular to all home departments, provincial police officers and heads of other Law Enforcement Agencies (LEAs) with direction to immediatelyput security on high alert.

The ministry also directed LEAs to take all necessary and preventive security measures to foil the nefarious designs of terrorists.
