The two-member committee, which was tasked to investigate the matter, presented their initial findings to the premier, informing him that the petrol shortage was a serious failure on the part of Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority as a regulator.
The meeting endorsed an earlier decision of suspending four senior officials responsible for the crisis. Further, PSO Finance Deputy Managing Director Sohail Butt was also held equally responsible for the shortages and orders were given for his suspension.

In PML's government ,it is no one's responsibility , it has the best of times , no teaser like Mr.Iftikhar Chaudhry around , no Memogater COAS to drag the government , and a bunch of friendly anchors on the electronic media. Enough time for N.S to seek penance , visit every month Saudi Arabia , mix prayers with business and come back home to fix responsibility which is of course not his cup of tea.
I am no fan of the PTI, but this is the first legitimate reason to demand Go Nawaz Go!
@Parvez: For us, the buck stops in the PM's pocket, not desk :(
The buck MUST always stop at the PM's desk.........an inept PM always looks for scapegoats.
I think the findings are incorrect, it's not OGRA responsible for the fuel crises, it's PEMRA who is responsible. Lol. Shame upon you both Nawaz and Shahbaz. You are disgrace to all of us.
@H. Khan: You forgot to mention Ishaq Dar,SS, Nawaz Sharif and the entire leadership of PMLN, that have failed Pakistan. It is time that N league be declared as a terrorist organization and their staunch supporters be thrown in jail before they can cause anymore destruction and economic losses to the country.
Can I ask what the 52 people who have voted for "It is a 'conspiracy against the government'" so far are smoking? Must be some seriously strong stuff!
DOnt care who is responsible..Just need petrol...never voting PMLN..learned my lesson
NS is Fagin in "Charles Dickens Oliver Twist" and his cabinet is made of "Artful Dodgers". So they are all part of the same plot of Thieves and Pickpockets.
Everyone is blaming PSO for the ongoing crisis. On 21st June, a meeting chaired by Ishaq Dar, was informed that PSO needs money. Nation's leading newspapers have highlighted these issues from July 2014 onwards.

The company, mired by the burgeoning circular debt, has been using its financial strength to absorb the un-relentless pressure exerted to finance the same for the nation. The culprits – nepotism of bureaucracy at fixing the loopholes in the power sector, ministers for their inaction on woes of power sector, thieves amongst the masses and industries, and regulators for their short-sightedness – have, like always, had the easy way out. The government, like in the past, has resorted to remove the tumour without treating the cancer spread across the energy chain of the country. The solution to this turmoil lies in tilting the energy mix to low cost sources, building dams, galvanising the bureaucracy aimed at saving the national exchequer, and taking responsibility for actions in the best interest of the country.
Can you see who is lying?? Look at Nawaz Sharif, Dar, Abbassi and the rest of the Cabinet. If you see any that is competent, send me a comment. Looks like Zardari and his team were Wizz Kids.
Is petroloeum ministry and its head not responsible for this chaos? Who will fire him for his imcompetence. Or can PM only fire employees working for PSO? This country's head still haven't realized that their actions could result in same fate as Qaddafi's. He was hiding in a gutter when his people found him, dragged him and then shot him in the head and buried him in the same gutter.
The committee was mandated to find people responsible outside the family and it did its job reasonably well so the nation needs to be congratulated on finding the real culprits and that too within a day. To top it off a family friend will soon occupy the OGRA top slot and things like this will never happen and the people will live happily after that.
They were tasked to investigate the Oil crisis or produce justification for PM's action of dismissal of four officials and claims of ministers ?
OGRA was held responsible but order of suspension was passed against deputy finance director of PSO
seriouly. no way .. really ..
Didn't see that coming .lol
and who told ECC meeting that we had 18 days of stock ?
I am sure it was the petroleum ministry.
Picture says more than the report itself - the blind cannot see.
The two member committee comprises of angels?. This appears to be an incomplete report, this report should be published for the understanding of masses.
How can one incompetent (Nawaz Sharif) fire another on account of incompetency?
What about Dar? No one will take his name as he is the relative of Naw.......interruption.
The commentator 'Aalu' has been fired due to his unacceptable comments.
Mr PM are you responsible for something? Please clarify matter it was govement incompetence in petrol shortage.
But what about ppl who are supervising these senior officials? No mentioning of Finance Ministry and Oil minister himself....????
@H. Khan: OGRA haven't had a full time chairman for about six months. Maybe that's the problem.
OGRA is white elephant which has no positive use in the petroleum sector.
GO NAWAZ GO!...but wait, how will you go..there is no fuel!
And OGRA chairman post has been vacant for six months! So who is responsiblefor that? None other then our nihari loving, foreign trip sspecialist, suspected murderer, motorway lover, genius of a PM, mian nawaz Sharif!
The Chairman and Board of OGRA should also resign
