Electing representatives: Friends Panel wins APP elections
LAHORE:
The Friends Panel won the Associated Press of Pakistan (APP) workers’ union election for a third consecutive term on Sunday. Election committee chairman Syed Gul Chaman Shah announced the election results after receiving votes from Multan, Faisalabad, Sargodha and Sialkot polling stations. Rab Nawaz and Bashir Ahmad Lashari have been elected as president and general secretary. Others elected are: Tasawar Hussain, senior vice president; Aslam Sharif, vice president; Khalid Yousaf, joint secretary; Kashif Hussain, press secretary and Imtiaz Ahmad, finance secretary. Muhammad Nadeem Butt, Ansar Chaudhry, Sohaib Khalid, Muhammad Zubair Gujjar, Aziz Shami and Ghulam Abbas were elected members of the executive committee. Friends Group chairman Talib Hussain Bhatti congratulated the elected candidates and also thanked the workers for their support.
