Even though The Lego Movie was not nominated for the Academy Awards this year, the director of the 3D movie, in possibly the best snub to not making it to the nominations list, created his ‘own’ Oscar statuette.

The highest grossing film of 2014 at the UK box office, the Warner Bros animation only got nominated for original song category for its song Everything is Awesome.

Although co-director Chris Miller may have tweeted “the title of the song doesn’t seem very accurate,” seemingly unperturbed by the snub, co-directed Phil Lord tweeted a Lego Oscar statuette.

Lord tweeted, “Its okay. Made my own!”

A hit among viewers, the voters ignored the movie for the animated feature film category. But the directors made light of the disappointment and celebrated their win for the best animated feature in the Critics Choice Movie Awards instead.
