LAHORE: Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) President Ijaz A Mumtaz has urged the concerned departments to take immediate measures to restore supply of petroleum products. He said the problem has not only affected the flow of vehicular traffic in the province, but will also affect trade and economic activities. Current shortfall is hindering the movement of finished goods and raw material. Agriculture sector will be hit hard as well since high speed diesel is used in agriculture machinery and tube wells.  Mumtaz said the main reason for the shortage was circular debt that had increased to over Rs200 billion. He demanded the government to take corrective measures to curtail circular debt that had not only created fuel shortage in the country but was also the reason of massive load shedding.
