Talha Munir Paracha recreated a photograph he had taken with his classmates prior to the tragic attack. The original one has four boys standing side by side, including Talha.
The latest one, taken after the school reopened following the tragic incident which took place less than a month ago, has only two students in it -- Talha (far left) and Hassan Javed Khan (second right) -- clad in their green school uniform.
The photograph, posted on Talha’s Facebook page as his cover photo, was taken post the Peshawar attack, and is simply heart-wrenching.
The other two school children, Rafiq Bangash (second left) and Mohammad Yassen (far right), are missing from the picture, having lost their lives in the savage attack on the school by the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), in which 150 people lost their lives, of which 132 were students.
A Facebook page set up in memory of Rafiq has over 10,000 likes.
The attack on the school resulted in worldwide condemnation, and candlight vigils across Pakistan, with everyone in mourning and shock over the loss of not just so many lives, but so many young lives.
The government was also quick to unite and vote on the establishment of military courts, as well as Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif lifting the ban on the death penalty in terrorism-related cases. Since then, 16 terrorists have been executed.

May God bless all four of you. May the loss of your friends forever be a reminder to us Pakistanis of the horrors of obscurantist thoughts and ideas.
After looking at these pics, it's quite difficult to hold the tears RIP
This is devastating!
Wht a loss we had. N da thar kids too
As long as proper check on Passports visas and ID cards is not done nothing will improve. anyone can make fake IDs and Passports hence the threat will never go down. sadly
The picture of the same friends taken after the attack sends chills down my spine. The earlier picture of four friends is happy and youthful and indicative of everything that's good in the world. The one Talha has recreated post the tragic demise of his friends is a gloomy, macabre picture of two boys who have been forced to grow up beyond their years, scarred by the death of several loved ones. There is an eerie vacuum in the second picture that depicts the void these young survivors will carry in their hearts for many years to come. May Allah give them patience.
unfortunately , i wont be surprised if such devastating incident happens again , the solution doesn't lie in extension of school holidays or increasing the security!
