PAT president Dr Raheeq Ahmed Abbasi said that rallies were planned to mark six months of the Model Town incident. He said that the party had postponed its protest rallies in December following the Peshawar incident.
Abbasi said that the government was shying away from making public the Judicial Commission report on the incident. He added that till the incumbent government remains in power, the PAT cannot hope to get justice.
The PAT president said that they had to approach the Lahore High Court (LHC) to acquire the JC report. But despite orders from the court, the Home Secretary has yet to send the report.
He said that while action against the perpetrators of Wagha Border attack or the Peshawar school attack may not be in the hands of the government, it did have the power to take action against those involved in the Model Town incident since they were all working for the government on lucrative posts.
PAT to start signature campaign against Dr Tauqeer Shah
In a meeting held at the PAT secretariat on Tuesday, it was decided that the party will start a signature campaign against the appointment of Dr Taqueer Shah, the main accused in the Model Town incident, at the World Trade Organization (WTO). Dr Shah is a former principle secretary of the Punjab Chief Minister.
The signature campaign will officially begin at the PAT secretariat on Wednesday. “Relatives of all those martyred will sign a document against appointment of Dr Shah and send it to WTO headquarters,” a PAT adviser told The Express Tribune.
According to a statement issued by PAT said that a written complaint will also be submitted along with the signed document which would brief WTO of Dr Shah's role in the killing of innocent PAT workers.

@F Khan: Shame on you for saying that people who want justice for the Model Town incident are engaged in "point scoring". Innocent lives were lost in this public act of barbarism. How do we fight terrorism effectively when people like you are so comfortable with state terrorism? How can we take the moral high ground against the TTP when our own rulers act just like them?
@Dawood: @F Khan:
Shame on N league and NS for not honouring his promise to PTI after IK unilaterally ended dharna. PAT is asking for an independent judicial inquiry into the Model Town Massacre, which is their right and was an instance of state terrorism.
Similarly, PTI is asking for a judicial inquiry into 2013 elections. Free and fair elections are a fundamental building block of any democracy.
Both of these matters are not personal. What if you had lost a loved one in Model Town? N-League is about to send Tauqir Sha, a central character, responsible for the massacre to Switzerland.
N League can resolve both issues within an hour by forming judicial commissions. What's stopping them, if they have nothing to hide? Its personal for N-League, not the other way around.
Allah bless Pakistan Allah save Pakistan from politics of PAT and PTI.
Biggest shame for PTI and PAT. They are enemy of Pakistan.
Pakistan is in the state of war. But selfish Imran and Tahir ul Qadri are doing politics. Shame for both.
Where is the model town report?
Shame on PAT and PTI. The country is in the middle of a military action against the militants and they have nothing but personal political scoring in the name of rigging and model town incident.
